BTT PRESENTS A NOWAK THE VIKING CARTOON!

I think I went just a little over 4 hours working on this one. I'm clocking it at 4 hours 10 minutes including scanning. Not including however the first panel, I spent a bit more time on him being he's gonna be in front of all the cartoons much like he is now.

Still, if Ctrl-Alt-Del can make a comic this well done and take 10 minutes more, I'd love to see them try.

THE CHALLENGE CONTINUES! Next week I swear I will make it under 4 hours.

Meantime: Nowak The Viking is a character for my Uncle. He's a big fan and I wanted to start a weekly strip and needed a character simple to draw and not just a typical proto sitcom family seen in most Sunday funnies. So I came up with a hyper violent viking warrior and soon the idea of putting him in an office. More hillarity to ensue.

Midget-Man: Appealing?

If you look at older drawings of Midget-Man he is chubby and looks alot like Mighty Mouse. I wanted to solve that problem and make the character more handsome and appealing so I went from this:

To this:

I've gotten mixed reviews. One lady in particular has vowed her hatred of the character if not returned back to his primal state. I'm also hearing that the older one looks like a nice guy push over and looks too much like myself.

Eitherway, I'm sticking with this design for this issue but I am willing to hear feedback besides being bickered at to change him back because I'm not.

The goal here isn't to be cartoony or realistic. My goal to make a character that is appealing that a girl could also find 'handsome' because to be a star, you must have appeal across gender lines.

Leave me comments.

Further words on Guitar Hero: Metallica

The primary difference between the Rock Band and GH 1 and 2 games were they were mostly engineered by musicians. Guitar Hero 3 and up were engineered by programmers. This results in something of a higher difficulty curve and somewhat unintuitive rhythm game.

I dunno, I've played a few songs and I don't get the same buzz for nailing something as I do on Rock Band. Rock Band rewards you for felling the sound, while Guitar Hero seems to reward you for whacking the note.

Initial impression, I've still having fun with the game.

I've been taking comic pages to work, and just drawing there. I doubt I will do that today being I doubt I will have time to. I should pack them up anyway.

Bad Taste Theater starts back up!

This is to prove I can do something better than Ctrl-Alt-Del in the same amount of time. I plan to pop out one these lil guys a week. Maybe If i get good at it and get some blog attention I'll do more.

Rock rock on.

Guess I better put this up too...

Photobucket
First comic I did. I hope to keep up a weekly color strip. Look good on a resume and entertain some folks. Wish me luck!

What I'm up too...

I'm currently busy working on various things which is why I haven't blogged recently. I am trying to get a new car, my 95 Mazda 626 has served me well, but I digress. Last time I dropped by the shop the faces of my repairmen witnessing the miracle that is my transmissions survival was about the highest level of astonishment I could dare conjure.

I might as well have taught the T-rex, laying on his noble belly unable tomove, how to walk upright. One leg forward, the other left behind to balance the weight, moving in steady motion creating movement. "What is that your doing?" ask the repairmen. "Why, I'll call it walking!" I reply.

Furthermore, I'm working on getting my comic published so I only have to have one real job. So far so good. Also, this blog now has ads. Sorry kids, daddy needs a new pair of Xbox 499's (elite, controller, Gear of War 2).

While doin' that I'd discovered that I really don't need a relationship to be happy. I've long known it but I'm considering taking my hat out of the dating ring until these things happen. I say that you can't make someone happy until your happy being yourself. This has proven itself over and over again in my partners and in myself. Believe it or not there have been times I wish I could slip out of my own skin and into a new one, but since I'd grown up and am confident in what I am, and honest in what I'm not.

In closing: I apparently now have a lady interested in publishing me. Details as I get them.

Are bailouts working yet? Nope.

Wow. See, AIG wasn't content with merely paying people for meeting deadlines --a sure sign of a successful healthy company run by knowledgeable people is that you have to pay your employees more to do there fucking job. However, this morning there stupidity has finally been trumped by Freddie Mac/Fanny May (Freddie May for now on due to my sanity) is now paying top executives, probably the ones responsible for the mess Freddie May is in a million each TO STAY AND DRIVE THE COMPANY INTO THE RED FURTHER.

Great job, guys. Great job pissing away my hard earned tax money. Great job stealing from those who need it more. Companys really hurting who could use some help and do more with the money than just pay people and go on as usual. Mega bonuses, no change in the shoddy retarded business practices that got you where you are in the first place.

We've proven many things in the years politics has existed.

--Socialism/Communism doesn't work
--Laissez-faire works.
--Bailouts don't.

So...why did we give out money to these idiots and why haven't I heard reports of them doing better? Why are there no "We got all this money we're doing our best to fulfill the promises of change when we got it"?

That's it, I was merely skeptical of bailouts at first, hoping the good it would do would outweigh the negative message of "practice poor business, stay in it anyway". However: It's clear these companies will remain stupidly run and stupidly managed and the best way to deal with this is to let them mess up, figure out why, and change for the better or die. No more bailouts.

I'm telling you, these idiots don't know how to fish, quit feeding them so they learn!

Okay hopefully next post will be more positive.
